OBIT BURLINGAME, ESTHER A.
BURLINGAME, Esther A., 74, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday, February 16,
1993 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. A graduate of The Deaf and Blind School
in Maryland, she was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford
which provides a sign language interrupter for the deaf at services. She was
preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mae Steele of Felton, Del. and
one brother Joseph Steele. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Floyd E.
Burlingame; one son and daughter-in-law, Roy E. and Peggy Burlingame, Lorrain,
Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn B. and Arnold Woodyard,
Christiansburg; seven sisters, Anne Durham, Goldsboro, Md., Clara Camper,
Hartley, Del., Alta Wingard, Edna Pfieffer, Alice Lucks, Ruth Steele, all of
Wyoming, Del and Cathryn Hurd, Felton Del.; one half brother, Amos Jones,
Felton, Del. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday from the Gethsemane
Baptist Church, Radford, conducted by Pastor Jerry Gibson with burial in
Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Thursday
evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
