OBIT BACAS, TESSIE SIMOPOULOS
BACAS, Tessie Simopoulos, 74, of 416 Lakewood St., Lynchburg, died Tuesday,
February 16, 1993, in Richmond at the home of her daughter. She was the widow
of Lee L. Bacas. Born in New York, she was a daughter of the late Peter and
Georgia Simopoulos. She was a retired cashier and cafeteria manager for
General Electric and a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She is
survived by one son, James L. Bacas; one daughter, Irene B. Thornburg, both of
Richmond; two sisters, Penelope Roupas of Roanoke, Helen Patrick of Richmond;
four grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in
Whitten Timberlake Chapel by Father George Kiricoples. Burial will be in Fort
Hill Memorial Park. A Trisagion (prayer service) will be held Thursday at 7
p.m. at the funeral home, after which the family will receive friends until 9
p.m. The family will be at the residence at other times. Memorial
contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, P. O. Box 2061,
Lynchburg, VA 24501.
