KATHY SHANNON DAVIS, daughter of Harry and Mary Jo Shannon of Davis Roanoke, recently received a doctorate degree in human resource management from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Davis, an assistant professor in the College of Management at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1977, James Madison University in 1981 and received a master's degree from Virginia Tech in 1982.
