HEARING FOR PASTOR DELAYED UNTIL MAY
A hearing to set a date for the trial of the Rev. William C. Mattox Jr. has been postponed until May at the request of Mattox's lawyer, Hal St. Clair.Mattox, the pastor of Clifton Forge Baptist Church, has been indicted on eight counts of aggravated sexual battery.
Clifton Forge prosecutor Jeff Crackel said six women involved had revelations that, in their childhoods, Mattox sexually molested them. The incidents occurred from 1971 to 1980, the indictments say. The women are not named in the indictments.
