OBIT-BECKNER, MYRTLE MCPHERSON

BECKNER, Myrtle McPherson, 80, of 684 Montrose Ave., Roanoke, formerly of Callaway, died Thursday morning, February 18, 1993, in a Roanoke hospital. She was the widow of Thomas A. Beckner and was also preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Presley, and a brother, James P. McPherson. She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia and Carl Blankenship, Sterling, Ill., Margaret Brown, Roanoke; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert B. and Greta McPherson, Edward L. and Irene McPherson, all of Callaway, William Roy and Betty McPherson, Ferrum; a special nephew and his wife, Dan and Liz McPherson, Callaway; 47 additional nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ron Hill and the Rev. Troy B. Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Boones Mill. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 342 South Main St., Rocky Mount.
