OBIT-JEFFERSON, ELMER K.
JEFFERSON, Elmer K. 82, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 1993
in a local hospital. He was born September 3, 1910 in Franklin County, a son
of the late George W. Jefferson and Lula Morgan Jefferson. Mr. Jefferson
retired from W. W. Boxley after 42 years of service, was a member of Colonial
Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife,
Claudine Harris Jefferson; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas E. and Billie D.
Jefferson, Newport News; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce J. and Lewis M.
Coffey, Madison Heights; a granddaughter, Debra L. Jefferson; a grandson,
Douglas M. Jefferson, Newport News; a sister, Erna R. Starkey, Salem; several
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday
from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Rev. Donald W. Eade officiating. Interment
will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke
Chapel.
