RICHLANDS SHOULD GIVE BACK TITLE

I AGREE with the Feb. 10 editorial, "Board calls penalty on the play," and will go one step further.

Now that the Richlands Group AA Division 4 victory has been sullied by a rules violation, the only fair and proper action for the Richlands High School football team to take is to return the championship title to the state.

Voluntary return will communicate to other Virginia High School League football communities: We erred, we're sorry and we wish to preserve the sanctity of this high-school program. RODNEY A. FRANKLIN ROANOKE
