2 TEENS CHARGED WITH HOOP STAR IN $3,000 BURGLARY
City police have charged two more people in connection with a break-in at an apartment earlier this month where $3,000 in items, including firearms, were taken.
Brian A. Canaday, 19, of Radford has been charged with grand larceny. Desi D. Delaney, 18, has been charged with receiving stolen property.
Last week, Christopher A. Hairston, 18, was charged with breaking into the apartment at Bergen Pines on Second Avenue. He also was charged with grand larceny of various items, including firearms, authorities said.
Hairston, a stand-out basketball player for the Radford High School Bobcats, has been suspended from the team. He is scheduled to appear in Radford General District Court March 8.
Most of the items have been recovered, Commonwealth's Attorney Randal Duncan said.
Canaday and Delaney are scheduled to appear in Radford General District Court April 1.
Canaday is a former Bobcat basketball player known as a three-point specialist.
Delaney was charged in November with malicious wounding in connection with an assault and robbery of three people at an ATM machine on the Radford University campus. A preliminary hearing on that charge is scheduled for March 8.
