VIRGINIA'S RIMMER DIES AT AGE 52

Bob Rimmer, who served the University of Virginia football staff in various capacities over an eight-year span, died Friday of a heart attack while on vacation in Freeport, Bahamas.

Rimmer, 52, most recently was an administrative assistant to head coach George Welsh. Rimmer previously had two stints as the head coach at Charlottesville High School, preceded by a four-year stay at his alma mater, Washington and Lee High School in Arlington.

Rimmer is survived by his wife, Jean, and two children. His son, Bobby, was a defensive back at Washington and Lee University.
