OBIT COX, GOLDIE MARIE

COX, Goldie Marie, 74, of Salem, died Thursday, February 18, 1993. She was a native of Besoco, West Va. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie E. Cox and her son, Jackie L. Cox. Survivors include one son, James E. Cox of Princeton, West Va.; six daughters, Shirley Cox Mason, Lapeer, Mich., Dot Cox Gardner, Rocky Point, N.C., Betty Cox Shrewsbury, Salem, Frances Cox Rogers, Salem, Barbara Cox Thompson, Rocky Mt., Va., Debbie Jean Cox, Salem; two brothers, Frank Snead, Fla., Miller Snead, Mich. ; six sisters, Garnet Barber, West Va., Verna Wickline of Mich., Margaret Walker, Salem, Pearl Harrison, Salem, Joyce Stacey, Roanoke, Judy Bush, Roanoke; 28 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, by the Rev. Paul W. Baristed. Burial will follow Wednesday, February 24, 1993, in Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery in Brandon, Fla. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home.
