COLD-SHOOTING FERRUM ROUTED BY LONGWOOD

Bryan Weaver scored 26 points, including 10-of-10 shooting from the free-throw line, Saturday as Longwood defeated Ferrum 100-66 in a non-conference men's basketball game.

Division II Longwood (16-9) led 42-34 at halftime and limited Division III Ferrum to 10-of-31 shooting (32 percent) from the floor in the second half.

Quincy Quick had 16 points for Ferrum (18-6), and Jerry Scarborough had 12 and Mike Robertson 11. Longwood got 21 points from Chuck Laster and 17 from Charles Brown.

Longwood outrebounded the Panthers 42-29 and forced 19 turnovers. \
