OBIT BOONE, EVA FRENCH HUFFMAN
BOONE, Eva French Huffman, 75, of Bedford, died Friday, February 19, 1993
in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Montgomery County on
September 20, 1917, a daughter of the late Dr. Frank B. Huffman and Mary
Echols Huffman. She was a member of the Bedford Christian Church and a past
matron of the Bedford Chapter 109 Order of the Eastern Star, member of the
Women of the Moose, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and was the registrar
for the City of Bedford for many years. Mrs. Boone was also a leader of the
Cub Scouts and 4H. She is survived by her husband, Norval A. Boone; five
children, Mary French Hudson, Bedford, Frank D. Boone and his wife, Barbara
Bass Boone, Kennesaw, Ga., Barbara B. Witt and her husband, John C. Witt,
Bedford, Amy B. Woodford, Huddleston, Norval A. Boone Jr.; one sister,
Virginia Louise Farrier, Blacksburg; eight grandchildren, Joi Renee
Hartsfield, Reseda, Calif., Jerry Leigh Hudson, Michael David Hudson, Kristie
Lynn Hudson Witt, all of Bedford, Kelly Dawn Snyder, Blacksburg, Patrick Lee
Snyder, Chatham, Paul Dana Boone and his wife, Mary Witt Boone, all of
Bedford, Frank Ryan Barrett Boone, Kennesaw, Ga.; also a very, very special
friend, Mark (Eddie) Austin, Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted on
Monday, February 22, 1993 at 1 p.m. at Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the
Rev. Richard Hedrick and Rev. Kenneth E. Burger officiating. Burial will
follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral
home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to
the Bedford Christian Church Building Fund, the Bedford Life Saving Crew, or a
charity of your choice.
