OBIT WALKER, OTHA D.
WALKER, Otha D., 87, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, February 20, 1993 in
Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of the Sealtest
Dairies, an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a charter
member and past president of the Christiansburg Kiwanis Club, and a past
member of the Christiansburg Recreation Commission. He is survived by his
wife, Genevieve Lawrence Walker; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Ann and
Eugene Peyton, Christiansburg; two grandsons, David and Philip Peyton; one
granddaughter-in-law, Rhonda Peyton; two great-grandsons, Drew and Dustin
Peyton; three sisters, Mildred May, Garnet Dickerson, both of Roanoke, Hazel
Chafin, Pilot; one sister-in-law, Jennie Lawrence, Bowie, Md.; a niece and
nephew, Rose Marie and Robert Rice, Bowie, Md.; numerous other nieces and
nephews; close friends, Don, Drema and Jamie Smithers. The family will receive
friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday only at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, February 22, from the St. Paul United
Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Rick Geoghegan. Members of the Frank R.
Wickham Bible Class will serve as the pallbearers. Interment will follow in
Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to
the Building Fund of St. Paul United Methodist Church or the Christiansburg
Rescue Squad. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
