CELTICS 3RD IN TOURNAMENT
Roanoke Catholic took third place in the State Catholic B boys' basketball tournament Sunday, defeating Blessed Sacrament 69-38 on the Celtics' court.Greg Broderick, a junior forward, led Roanoke Catholic with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Justin Thompson added 15 points, Mike Clark had 13 and Mike Kolnok added 12.
Scot Sleene had 13 points and David Burley added 12 for Blessed Sacrament.
The tournament championship went to Walsingham Academy, a 53-44 winner over Peninsula Catholic. Steve Booth led Walsingham Academy with 18 points. Peninsula Catholic was led by Scott Mackie's 11 points. - Staff report
