TOTA GETS SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AWARD

Roanoke School Superintendent Frank Tota has received the American Association of School Administrators' Leadership for Learning Award.

Tota received the award at the association's conference in Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 11.

The award includes $2,000, given to the school district in Tota's name, to be used to support continued efforts to improve educational opportunities.

Candidates for the award must have demonstrated outstanding educational leadership by making a significant contribution to the improvement of academic achievement through the direction of a program, project or activity.

A jury of association members selected the winners.
