OBIT GATHRIGHT, MARGARET LAMIE

GATHRIGHT, Margaret Lamie, 73, of Staunton, died February 21, 1993 at the Liberty House Nursing Home, Waynesboro, after a long illness. She was born August 11, 1919 in Saltville, Va. She was a graduate of Lewis-Gale Hospital School of Nursing in Roanoke. During her professional career she nursed at several hospitals, the latter being King's Daughters Hospital, Staunton. Mrs. Gathright is survived by her husband, John S. Gathright Sr., Staunton; her son and daughter-in-law, John S. Jr. and Donna Gathright, Palmyra; two grandsons, John Benjamin Gathright and Seth Eliot Gathright; two sisters, Mrs. Polly Talbert, Chilhowie and Mrs. Virginia Slagle, Roanoke; two brothers, Robert Lamie, Mobile, Ala.; James Lamie, Moneta. The family will receive friends 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home, Goochland. Graveside services will be held Wednesday 2 p.m. at Norvue Cemetery, Louisa County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6767 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, VA 23225.
