OBIT HATTAN, SAMUEL TEAFORD
HATTAN, Samuel Teaford, 88, of Lexington, died Saturday, February 20, 1993,
at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Mr. Hattan was born in Rockbridge County,
Va. on April 25, 1904, a son of the late Mark Hattan and Sarah Jane Hattan. He
was a member of the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church and the Mountain City
Lodge #67. He is survived by two daughters, Ruth (Becky) Stump, Bent Mountain,
Jane Calfas, San Antonio, Texas; two stepsons, John Edward Mitchell, Manassas,
Charles Ray Mitchell, Lexington; a brother, George Hattan, Lexington; three
grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 24, 2
p.m. at the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church with Rev. H. Wray Sherman
officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Masonic services will be
conducted at the graveside by the Mountain City Lodge #67 A.F.&A.M. The family
will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral
Home, Lexington.
