WORKSHOP IS SCHEDULED FOR HORN PLAYERS
Virginia Tech's music department presents its 16th annual Southeast Horn Workshop from Friday through Sunday in Blacksburg for all horn players.The workshop will include clinics, solo and chamber music recitals, master classes, student solo and orchestral excerpt competitions, massed horn choirs and a full orchestra concert with the New River Valley Symphony. Music suppliers and instrument manufacturers will also exhibit their products.
This year's featured artists are Jerome Ashby, associate principal horn with the New York Philharmonic; James London, associate principal horn with the Dallas Symphony; and Jean Rife, principal horn with Boston Baroque.
Registration, $35 for the entire workshop or $15 for a single day, and will begin at 9 a.m. Feb. 26. The public may attend each event for $5. For more information, call 231-8494 or 231-5200.
