WORDS OF PRAISE SURPRISE SUPERVISORS
Bob King shocked the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors when he addressed the governing body Monday night. Each board meeting offers citizens two chances to speak to the board. Usually, the speaker is asking for something, complaining about something or bringing an issue to the board's attention.
King, a retired postal employee, was doing none of those.
"I have no complaints. I have no gripes," he said. He just wanted to thank the board members for the many hours they work on behalf of the county.
"I admire you. I appreciate you. I thank God for you," he said, drawing spontaneous applause from others attending the meeting.
King said his job had kept him from attending meetings of the governing body, but now he had time to do things like that.
Next time he spoke about something, he joked, he might be more critical.
