OBIT BOATWRIGHT, ELLEN WRIGHT

BOATWRIGHT, Ellen Wright, 87, of Marion, widow of Dr. D. C. Boatwright, died Monday, February 22, 1993, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Boatwright attended Martha Washington College and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Ellen Rice and a son, Dr. Robert Stuart Boatwright. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Wilma Scott Boatwright, Waynesville, N. C.; a grandson, Robert Scott Boatwright, Cincinnati, Ohio; a granddaughter, Jane Boatwright Wood, Clyde, N. C.; two sisters, Kathleen Nylander, Richmond, Va. and Mildred Dungan, Bradenton, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Ella Scott Wright, Damascus, Va.; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 25 in the First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Dr. J. N. Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Barnett's Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
