PARADE PICKS 2 STANDOUTS FROM OAK HILL

Teammates Jerry Stackhouse and Jeff McInnis from Oak Hill Academy in Grayson County have been named to Parade magazine's All-America basketball team to be announced Sunday.

There are more Parade All-Americans from Virginia, five, than any other state.

Also selected were 6-foot-10 Joey Beard from South Lakes High in Reston, 6-9 Joe Smith from Maury High in Norfolk and 6-1 Allen Iverson from Bethel High in Hampton. Iverson is the only junior among the five.

Stackhouse, a 6-6 forward, played until this year at Kinston (N.C.) High School. McInnis, a 6-4 guard, has spent the past two seasons at Oak Hill after transferring from Charlotte, N.C. Both have signed letters-of-intent with North Carolina.

Beard has signed with Duke and Smith with Maryland.
