OBIT JONES, RUBY VIRGINIA MATHENA

JONES, Ruby Virginia Mathena, 69, of Chilhowie, died Tuesday, February 23, 1993, at her home. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Sue. She attended the First Church of God in Chilhowie, and is survived by her husband, Glenn P. Jones, Chilhowie; two daughters, Barbara J. Lester of Marion, Glenna J. Shepherd of Chilhowie; four granddaughters, Misty Lester Elswick, and husband, Gary, Denise Doyle Kegley, and husband, John, Lori Doyle Hart, all of Chilhowie, Tina M. Lester of Eastlake, Ohio; one grandson, Ricky G. Lester, Chilhowie; one sister, Faye M. Puckett of Charlotte, N.C.; and one brother, Herman "Buddy" Mathena, Marion. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 1993, at the Newberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements by Newberry Funeral Home, Chilhowie.
