MATTHEW B. BROUGHTON of Gentry, Locke, Rakes & Moore in Roanoke has been named the 1993 secretary-treasurer of the Young Lawyers Section of the Virginia Bar Association.
\ CHARLIE CHANG, executive chef and owner of the Fiji Island Restaurant in Roanoke, has been named chef of the year by the Southwest Virginia chapter of the American Culinary Federation.
Chang, who volunteers as a guest chef for charity projects, also was elected chairman of the chapter's board.
Other officers are: Jack Harteis, president; Curtis Carter, vice president; Steve Williams, treasurer; Jeff Shupe, secretary; and Bobby Simmons, newsletter editor.
