KENNEDY ASKED SEARCH OF FILE ON BROTHER'S FOE
A former aide to John F. Kennedy says the president asked him to search through Navy personnel files of a politician who was running against his brother Edward for U.S. Senate in 1962.But the information never was used, said the aide, Paul Fay.
"I did this at the request of the president," Fay said Thursday. "We didn't know what we were going to find."
A close friend of President Kennedy, Fay described the events in an initial manuscript for his 1966 book, "The Pleasure of His Company."
