WRITERS DISTORT CLINTON'S POSITION

I JUST can't stand it another minute. What I'm referring to is the seemingly endless, hateful letters to the editor concerning President Clinton.

I am particularly upset by the ones that accuse him of being little more than a murderer of unborn children. Please! He does not advocate abortion, only the right of each pregnant woman to be aware of her options and to choose the one that she can live with. Personally, I would not choose abortion. However, that is my personal choice and no one else's. Each woman who chooses to end her pregnancy must deal with her own conscience. It is not the responsibility of the public to police women's pregnancies. I wonder why these outraged citizens don't pay more attention to children who already have been born into poverty and suffering. That would be a showing of their Christian attitudes.

And another thing - do people actually believe that there are currently no homosexuals in the military? Besides, gay men and lesbian women are not necessarily sex-crazed maniacs who can't keep their hands off heterosexuals. We need a lot more tolerance and understanding in this country.
