HOSPITAL GROUND-BREAKING MONDAY
There will be a ground-breaking ceremony open to the public at 10 a.m. on Monday on the front lawn at Giles Memorial Hospital for an 8,000-square-foot expansion and renovation.The hospital will begin construction in March and plans to open the renovated areas by the end of this year.
The project will consist of an expansion to the emergency treatment area, addition of a separate ambulance entrance, expansion and renovation of the radiology department and a new registration and admission area.
Speaker for the ceremony will be Thomas L. Robertson, president of the Carilion Health System.
