OBIT LOPER, SYDNEY SKINNER

LOPER, Sydney Skinner, 69, of Radford, and formerly of Shreveport, La., died Thursday, February 25, 1993 in a Salem hospital. Sydney was born in Belleville, Ala., and was a 1944 graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport, La. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jack Lewis Loper; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Virginia Sowers Loper of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and David and Bonnie Finnell Loper of Williamsburg; one daughter, Sally Anne Loper of Radford; one grandson, Jeffrey Cameron Loper of Raleigh, N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Robertson of Shreveport, La. A memorial and worship service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 1993 at Grove United Methodist Church in Radford with the pastors Clarence Dishman and Will Robbins officiating. Friends may call at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home between 2 and 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 1993. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Roanoke Rescue Mission, Box 525, Roanoke, Va. 24003. A memorial service will also be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 1993 at Centenary College Chapel in Shreveport, La.
