WHITESCARVER-GARDNER
Mr. and Mrs. Furman B.Whitescarver, Jr. of Salem, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Carol Jean Maslin, to Mr. Scott Elliott Gardner, son of Suzanne W. Gardner of Salem and the late Warren H. Gardner. Miss Whitescarver is the granddaughter of Lillian P. Whitescarver of Salem and the late Furman B. Whitescarver, Sr. and the late Thelma S. Larch and the late Alonza K. Larch of Roanoke. Mr. Gardner is the grandson of Evelyn H. Gardner of Roanoke and the late James O. Gardner and Dorothy S. Warden of Roanoke and the late Albert J. Warden.
Miss Whitescarver graduated from Salem High School in 1987 and received a B.A. in Spanish from Randolph-Macon College in 1991. She is presently attending Virginia Tech's College of Education in order to receive her Master of Education degree in the Summer of 1993.
Mr. Gardner graduated from Salem High School in 1984 and received a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech in 1988. He graduated from the T.C. Williams School of Law of the University of Richmond in 1991 and is presently a self-employedattorney in Salem.
The wedding ceremony will be held June 26, 1993 at the First UnitedMethodist Church in Salem.
