CRYING WON'T DO ANY GOOD

I believe the reason for Salem High football coach Willis White to go after Dennis Vaught and the Richlands team over the issue of cleats that were a fraction of an inch too long for the rules is to deflect attention from his own deficiencies as a coach.

White knows that time is running out for one of his teams to win a state championship, so he finally can be in the spotlight he so desperately has wanted. My opinion is that his chances of accomplishing that are slim if Coach Vaught is reinstated to his job after his one-year suspension from coaching is lifted.

Judging from all the times that one of White's supposedly superior teams have failed to win the state, perhaps their only chance is to drop to a lower classification. Either that or everybody who plays for Richlands gets hurt.

Since neither will happen, then I suppose we'll have to endure more of Coach White's crying in the future.
