BE CONSISTENT IN BASKETBALL STORIES
As a rule, your sports section is tops in every way.But I have a couple of comments about a couple of articles concerning William Byrd basketball.
On Jan. 31, your headline read "Byrd free throws sink Cave Spring." But you did not follow up on your byline! You could have at least mentioned the player or players' names. Basketball is a team sport and should be reported as such and not as a one- or two-man team.
In your Feb. 3 issue of the Alleghany game, you did not hesitate to mention the player by name who missed his shots!
Our team works hard and long to do their best to win! So it's up to us as parents, coaches and fans to praise them for their efforts and not criticize them.
