OBIT VEST, LOUELLA FLORENCE
VEST, Louella Florence, 102, of Roanoke, and formerly of Floyd, passed away
Friday, February 26, 1993, in a Roanoke hospital. She was born October 31,
1890, the daughter of the late Andrew Pierce Vest and Octavia Ellen Vest. She
was a resident of Floyd County for more than 70 years and lived a long, happy
and healthy life. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Vest;
three sons, W. Ward Vest, Isaac R. B. Vest, and Alfred Vest; one daughter,
Lottie West. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and
Aldean Vest, Fairfax; Randolph (Monk) and Bessie Vest of Salem, Irvin and
Corrine Vest of Roanoke, William (Bill) and Louise Vest of Radford; two
daughters, Virginia (June) Peters of Thaxton, and Edith Sweeney of Floyd; one
brother, Ted Vest of Arlington; one son-in-law, Raymond West of Floyd; one
daughter-in-law, Shirley Vest of Alexandria; 19 grandchildren, 36
great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be
Monday 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Chapman
officiating. Interment will follow in Stonewall Cemetery. Friends may call
after 11 a.m. Sunday at Gardner Funeral Home Floyd, where the family will be
from 7 to 9 p.m.
