MAJ. GEORGE B. McCLURE, son of Viola McClure of 209 Emmett Ave., Salem, has arrived for duty at Tripler Army Medical Center, Mauna Loa, Hawaii.
McClure, a staff physician, graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1973, from the University of Richmond in 1977 and from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1983.
\ ARMY PVT. DARREN D. TOMPKINS, son of David D. Tompkins of 1012 Debra Lane, Salem, and Twyla J. Frank of Vienna, has arrived for duty at Camp Casey, Tongduchon-Up, South Korea.
Tompkins, a military police specialist, is a 1992 graduate of Salem High School.
\ MARINE LANCE CPL. PETER J. TAYLOR, son of Patsy D. Haynes of Troutville, was promoted to his present rank while serving with the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Taylor is a 1991 graduate of Northside High School.
\ NAVY SEAMAN RECRUIT JAMES G. TRAYLOR, son of James W. Traylor of 6368 Peaceful Drive and Martha J. Peatry of Salem, has reported for duty aboard the frigate USS Reasoner based in San Diego.
Traylor is a 1990 graduate of Glenvar High School.
\ MARINE LANCE CPL. CHRISTOPHER L. AEBERSOLD of 101 Rutledge Drive, Salem, recently was promoted to his present rank while serving with 4th Combat Engineer Battalion, 4th Marine Division in Roanoke.
Aebersold is a 1991 graduate of Salem High School.
