IBM TO CUT 500 JOBS AT FLORIDA PC PLANT
Employees of IBM Corp.'s main personal computer design plant were jolted Wednesday with an announcement that they might be laid off if they don't volunteer for a severance program aimed at cutting 400 to 500 jobs by the end of June.
The new job cuts will lower the head count at the IBM plant to about 3,200 - one-third the number of people who worked there in 1985. -
