BRISTOL ROAD DISTRICT HEARING SET
The annual Bristol District Department of Transportation hearing on funds for interstate, primary and urban roads will start at 10 a.m. Friday with a welcome by Joseph A. Rhea Jr., the district representative of the state Transportation Board.Secretary of Transportation John Milliken will follow with remarks before various localities make their presentations.
Speakers from Lee, Scott and Wise counties, the city of Norton and towns of Big Stone Gap and Wise are scheduled to be heard from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.
Those from Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell and Tazewell counties and the towns of Bluefield, Lebanon, Richlands and Tazewell will follow from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Scheduled for 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. are Bland, Grayson, Smyth, Washington and Wythe counties, the city of Bristol and towns of Abingdon, Marion and Wytheville.
The hearing will be held at Virginia Highlands Community College. - Southwest bureau
