OBIT LAVINDER, NORMAN WHITE
LAVINDER, Norman White, 74, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, March 31, 1993 in a
local hospital. Mr. Lavinder was involved in the retail furniture and produce
business in Roanoke for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Wiley W. and Annie Simpson Lavinder. He is survived by his wife, Martha Hall
Lavinder of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Lavinder of
Statesville, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Larry Reynolds Jr.
of Roanoke; and a daughter, Teresa Lavinder of Roanoke; two special grandsons,
Harrison Cole and Daniel Tyler Reynolds of Roanoke; sisters, Mrs. Camille
Joyce of Roanoke, Mrs. Lotherene M. Black of Melbourne, Fla., Mrs. Faye C.
Mullins of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four brothers, Forrest G. Lavinder Sr., Charles
E. Lavinder, both of Roanoke, Alfred T. Lavinder of Glen Burnie, Md., Kyle F.
(Jack) Lavinder of Shawsville; many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be held Friday, April 2 at 1 p.m. from the Lotz Salem Chapel
with the Rev. Carter Sloan officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn
Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Thursday at Lotz
Salem Chapel.
