OBIT SUMPTER, M. LUTHER

SUMPTER, M. Luther, 98, of Richfield Nursing Home, Roanoke, died Tuesday, March 30, 1993. He was formerly of 655 Highland Ave., S.E., and was preceded in death by his wife, Savannah Leffel Sumpter in 1991. He was retired from the American Viscose and also retired as a desk clerk from the YMCA. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 1:30 p.m. Friday, by Dr. Harry Y. Gamble. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
