OBIT RHETT, CHARLES H. SR.
RHETT, Charles H. Sr. 83, of 13 Seventh St., NW, Pulaski, died Tuesday,
March 30, 1993 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Charleston,
S.C. on April 24, 1909 and was the son of the late Henry Rhett and Sarah
Harper Rhett. He was a retired employer of Appalachian Power Co., Pulaski
having 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army/Air
Force, and he was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Pulaski. Surviving
are his wife, Margaret L. Rhett, Pulaski; one daughter, Monnie McMillan,
Pulaski; three sons, Charles H. Rhett Jr., Pulaski, Harry Burks Rhett,
Martinsville, Edward B. Rhett, Charleston, W.Va.; one sister, Sallie R.
Rieley, Roanoke; one brother, Roland Rhett, Martinsville; eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Christ Episcopal
Church with the Rev. Stephen Weston officiating. The family will receive
friends Thursday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski. In lieu
of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Christ Episcopal
Church, Charles H. Rhett Sr. Choir Fund, or to the Episcopal Boy's Home.
