OBIT STIFF, ELMER BURRELL JR.

STIFF, Elmer Burrell Jr., 83, of Blacksburg, died Wednesday, March 31, 1993, in a Blacksburg hospital. Born in Giles County, May 22, 1910, he was a son of the late Elmer B. Stiff Sr. and Dora Durham Stiff. He is survived by one son, William Edward Stiff, Roanoke; one daughter, Joyce S. Conner, Roanoke; three brothers, Atlee Stiff, Newport, Earl Stiff, Seneca, S.C., Wirt Stiff, Shawsville; three sisters, Carrie Ingram, Leland, Miss., Dorothy Higginbotham, Chesapeake, and Bernice Martin, Pembroke; one grandchild, Douglas Stiff, Roanoke; a special friend, Geneva Rose, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, with burial in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 to 8.
