OBIT EDMISTON, GEORGE BURTON
EDMISTON, George Burton, 82, of Chilhowie, died Tuesday, March 30, 1993, in the Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. He was a retired employee of the Brunswick Corporation, Marion, with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Bishop Edmiston; one son, Robert Thomas Edmiston, Johnson City, Tenn.; three brothers, Joe Edmiston, Marion, Va., John W. Edmiston, Chilhowie, Va., James W. Edmiston, Greenville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Byrd Dinkins, Mrs. Fred W. Cress, both of Chilhowie, Va.; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mountain View United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Mountain View United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Williams Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services.
