NO COERCION AT THE POWER COMPANY
IN A March 20 news article, a spokesman for the Roanoke County Preservation League alleged that Appalachian Power Co. employees are being coerced to sign petitions supporting the planned high-voltage power line.As an Apco employee and a member of the I.B.E.W. Local Union 978, I can attest to that being untrue. Our union supports this project and our membership is voluntarily assisting in circulating the petition.
This support comes from the realization of the importance of a reliable power supply and transmission system to the well-being and economic future of our service area. DAVID A. WILLARD SR. VINTON
