POLL: 80% OPPOSE MORE AID TO RUSSIA
Four out of five Americans oppose increasing overall aid to Russia, according to a USA Today-CNN-Gallup poll released Friday. The poll of 1,000 Americans interviewed in a telephone survey Monday through Wednesday showed that 80 percent opposed increasing aid to Russia and 55 percent don't believe such aid will significantly help the former Communist nation move toward a free-market economy and democracy.
However, the poll found that 79 percent strongly support aid to Russia for food and other humanitarian services.
Clinton's job approval rating after two months in office is 52 percent, the lowest of any president at this point in his term since such measures began during the Eisenhower administration, according to the poll, which has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
