OBIT MCGINNIS, MILES SHIPMAN

McGINNIS, Miles Shipman, 83, of the Roanoke Methodist Home, died in a Roanoke hospital Thursday, April 1, 1993. He was formerly of Shipman, Va. (Nelson County). He was member of Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Wesley Fellowship Class and formerly on the administrative board. He was a retired superintendent of Exxon Company, Roanoke terminal having been with the company for 40 years. Surviving are his wife, Doris Brent McGinnis, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen M. and Dr. Robert S. Gatling, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Lindsay Gatling and Robert Gatling Jr. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 10:30 a.m. Monday by Dr. Jerry Campbell and the Rev. Walter Lockett. Burial will be in the Amherst Cemetery, Amherst, Va. at 2 p.m. Monday. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel Sunday, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m.
