OBIT REESE, BERTIE M.
REESE, Bertie M., 88, of Salem, died Thursday, April 1, 1993. She was a lifelong area resident. She was a housewife and homeowner and a member of the Fleming Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buren Andrew Reese Sr.; a daughter, Shirley May Hale. She is survived by five sons, Buren Andrew Reese Jr., Manassas, Walter Donald Reese, Garland Leon Reese, Ralph Lynn Reese, George Wayne Reese, all of Salem; one daughter, Wilma Jean Bare, Abingdon; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel, Salem, by the Rev. Wesley Wilson. Burial will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. John M. Oakey & Son is handling the arrangements.
