TECH RUNNERS PLACE IN WILLIAMSBURG RELAYS

Virginia Tech's Travis Walter placed third in the men's open 5,000-meter run at the Ford's Colony Colonial Relays on Saturday in Williamsburg. Walter finished in 14 minutes, 19.4 seconds.

Lori Taylor was third in the women's division of the open 5,000. Taylor, the Hokies' women's coach, was competing for Blue Ridge Asics and finished with a time of 17:40.3.

Other winners for Tech were Tom Lankowicz in the men's open 10,000 (30:33.7) and the men's 4 x 800 relay team of Joe Kirkpatrick, Eric Parlette, Joe Edwards and Brett Mathews (7:45.2).
