SOUTHERN VIRGINIA WINS FERRUM HORSE SHOW
Southern Virginia College won the Ferrum College Intercollegiate Horse Show with 41 points, followed by St. Andrew's Presbyterian with 35. Radford was third, and Virginia Tech tied Virginia Intermont for fourth. Ferrum tied for eighth.Ferrum's top performers were Becky Dye, who won the Open Division over-fences class and was fourth in the on-the-flat class; Nancy Custer, who won the Novice Division on-the-flat and was third in the Novice over-fences; Sue Isenberg, second in the Open Division over-fences; Stacy Beumer, fourth in the Beginner walk-trot-canter.
Nicole Graves will represent Ferrum in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Region IV Championships at Hollins College on Wednesday. Hollins will represent the region at the IHSA National Championships at Lake Erie College in Michigan on May 1-2. It is the first time in 13 years that any team other than Southern Virginia (formerly Southern Seminary) has represented Region IV.
