OBIT STARR, FREDA C.
STARR, Freda C., 87, of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 4, 1993. She was a member of the Enon Baptist Church, and was the widow of Ewell E. Starr. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Roberta Starr, Burlington, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Helen S. and L. F. ("Pete") Journell, Roanoke; four grandchildren and spouses, Larry Journell of Fincastle, Allen and Brenda Journell, Vicky and Gary Carrell, Tracy and Jeff Wright, all of Roanoke; four great-grandchildren, Wayne and Amy Journell, Patrick and Daniel Carrell, all of Roanoke; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Sue and Leo Whitenack, Floyd; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert and Ruby Castle of Fincastle, William Castle of Salem. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. William R. Harding III officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel.
