OBIT PREAS, SALLIE MCFERRAN
PREAS, Sallie McFerran, 89, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, April 3, 1993, in Oakwood Manor. She was born February 11, 1904, in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late James William McFerran and Emma Henderson McFerran. She was a graduate of King College, an educator in the Botetourt County School System for many years, and was a member of the Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lathrope Preas. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Nelle Preas Mackey, Bedford; two nieces, Harriette P. Reininger, Nampa, Idaho, June M. Slaughter, Bedford; a nephew, Hugh P. Mackey, Bedford. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of the niece, June Slaughter, Mountain View Drive, Bedford. Memorials may be made to the Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, 1837 Grandin Road, S.W. Roanoke, Va. 24015. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home, Bedford.
