LITERACY VOLUNTEERS DISTRIBUTING PACKETS

Literacy Volunteers of America of the New River Valley has recently distributed their its "Beginning with Books" packets. The project gives three preschool-level books and a coupon for a fourth book to children who may not have books. Its mission is to encourage children to read and to use their local libraries.

Literacy Volunteers of America needs computers for helping to teach adults to read and write. Donations or long-term loans are acceptable. Call 382-7262.
