GM PICKS FINANCIAL OFFICER TO SUCCEED LOPEZ

General Motors' financial officer, G. Richard Wagoner, 40, will assume the added duty of running the automaker's purchasing operations previously led by J. Ignacio Lopez de Arriortua. The board of directors approved the appointment Monday.
