ROBB TO VISIT S. KOREA, OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES
Charles Robb, chairman of the U.S. Senate subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific affairs, will visit South Korea on Wednesday, officials said. The Foreign Ministry said Monday that Robb will meet with Foreign Minister Han Sung-joo. The trip also includes a tour of key Asian nations including Japan and China.
High on his agenda will be North Korea's decision to withdraw from an international nuclear control pact, blocking international inspections of its nuclear sites.
The withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty on March 12 reinforced international suspicion that the Communist North is developing nuclear weapons, despite its repeated denials. - Associated Press
